Double Helix

  • Dec. 27th, 2009 at 11:24 AM
I forgot to post this here when I put up the first chapterrrrr

But like I did last time, I'm only putting this one entry here to let people know about it.  If you're interested, it's available on FP, and I'd prefer comments/concrits there. :)  (I've got anonymous reviewing turned on if y'all don't have FP accounts, but I'm betting a lot of you do.)

With that over with,

---

It's here on Fictionpress

Title:  Double Helix
Genre:  Urban fantasy, M/M slash
Warnings:  Blood, violence, some occasional harsh language, light slash, alcohol.
Total word count:  ~48k, 10 chapters or so

Summary:  (ripped from my NaNo profile)

The Eugenics Movement: A competition between three powerful Parties to create the strongest, most intelligent, and most moral race of humans conceivable.

Their task is to destroy all unworthy factors, such as the lowly Faustinian race, of which suffered a massive genocide that began The Purging. A few stragglers still survived and were being picked off until it was discovered that the Faustinians possessed the means to use a powerful magic called "sonokinesis"...

The race to destroy them turned into a race to collect them and extract what data is needed to project the power of sonokinesis onto the reigning Linnish race.

When Lewis is injured and seeks medical help from the Helix Party, he unknowingly locks himself into this invisible war zone. His Faustinian heritage is brought to light, and soon all three Parties, plus a mysterious underground resistance, are fighting for his custody, leaving Lewis to decide for himself which are truly his friends... if any are his friends at all.

tl;dr, I know. :'(  But it's here, if anyone's interested.

christmas and historical fiction?

  • Dec. 26th, 2009 at 11:44 PM
Title: Retribution
Fandom: Original
Rating: PG
Summary: Just how far will a prince go to achieve his revenge?
AN: Happy Christmas everyone! It's a one-shot and there's a tiny bit of slash, but it was more of an idea rather than a whole novel. Aims to have a historical feel to it, but nevermind. Fanart included.

(fake-cut to journal)
Title: The Unanswered Question.
Author: Dusk Peterson.
Where to find me: Website, Dreamwidth blog, InsaneJournal mirror blog, LiveJournal mirror blog, duskpetersonbooks (e-mail list with announcements of my fiction).
Series: The Eternal Dungeon, a historical fantasy series set in a land where the psychologists wield whips. You don't need to have read the rest of the series to understand this story.
Categories: Original fiction. Male/male platonic feelings (main plot) and male/male erotic attraction (subplots). Mentor fiction and prisoner fiction.
Note: This is my 2009 holiday gift story to my readers. You can see the prompts from my readers that inspired the novella and my response to their prompts (both with major spoilers, so they're best read after you've finished the story).
Rating: PG-13.
Warnings.
Feedback: Yes, please.
Summary: No weapons, no allies, and no guarantees that he will survive the test.

He was weaponless. Or rather, not quite weaponless, for he knew what he was capable of doing with his body, but he bore no blade, nor any whip, nor any lead pipe with which to stun his victim, nor any rope with which to strangle the victim . . . The number of potential weapons he had deliberately laid aside was frighteningly high.

Merry Christmas!

Title: For Me?
Author:[info]chemcat
Warnings: attempted suicide, swearing.
Pairing: Owen/Randy
Genre: Drama.
Rating: PG-13.
Disclaimer: Idea and characters are mine.
Word count: 1004 (MS Word)
Beta reader: All remaining mistakes are mine only
Summary: A bit of trust between lovers is… mandatory.

JalapeƱos and Ginger Ale

  • Dec. 24th, 2009 at 12:34 AM
Title: Soda-Pop: Jalapeños and Ginger Ale
Type: Original Modern
Date: 12/25
Rating: PG
Warning: None really.
Summary: Conventional wisdom says: what is heard cannot be unheard.
Notes: Only half beta'd because of lack of time. I'm not sure on my execution of this story but, well, nothing can be done about that at the moment. Its an experiment in present tense with a sort of southern-ish feel and the first short story in a series of six. Its not entirely slash--but its not entirely NOT slash either. Future stories in the series will involve more slashy thoughts.

Conventional wisdom says: what is heard cannot be unheard.

Justin decides that conventional wisdom can just about go suck it and storms from his house at a run with big stomping feet and a slamming storm door. He is seventeen going on eighteen. He is blond-haired and blue-eyed, the golden boy of the track team, and high school heartthrob in everything but name with muscles and a summertime tan. If he wants to forget something he is damn well going to forget it and there is nothing and no one that can tell him different.

Fanfiction: The Annals of Fear

  • Dec. 22nd, 2009 at 8:37 AM
Hi all,

I've written a sequel to 'The Mello Code'.

Title: The Annals of Fear
Author: Matilda/MRS Jeevas
Rating: Adult - 18
Pairing: Mello/Matt
Disclaimer: I don't own Death Note or either of these characters.
Warning: Alternative Universe: Spoilers for all of Death Note; bad language; extreme violence; psychological trauma; supernatural/horror; very over 18, explicit activities between Mello and Matt, as usual...
Summary: Mello and Matt have another case, but it turns out to be much more personal than they were anticipating. Can they even make it out alive?

'The Annals of Fear' is the eighth in the trilogy, following 'My Own Way', 'It Matters', 'All The Way Here', 'Poisoned Rationality', 'Watari Pt 1', 'Watari Pt 2' and 'The Mello Code'.

It is being published one chapter a day in two locations. We are currently on chapter two of 42 chapters. If you wish to read it (and thank you if you do) please choose between:

Adult Fanfiction

or

MangaBullet (I've written a journal especially for MelloMattCommunity people there.)

The 'He Moves Me Differently' website will be updated over the coming weeks to accommodate the new story.

Thanks in advance
